Great food, local produce, artisan shopping and the best of boutique Western Australian wine, cider, mead and handcrafted spirits all under one roof… What more could you wish for from a weekend in the South West?
One of Busselton’s newest and best kept secrets, Origins Market has burst onto the scene offering the best of Western Australia in a family friendly atmosphere, serving up fun and delicious in equal quantities!
Open Thursday to Sunday, you will find the likes of Dusty Buns baking up the most exquisite artisan sourdough loaves along with an extensive and ever-changing range of ‘scratch’ sweet treats (that means everything is made from scratch, including their to-die-for creme patisserie) from 7am. Master baristas Obsidian Coffee Roasters are also at hand early to satisfy your coffee cravings and start the day off right.
From 8.30am the action begins, with cold pressed juices ready to meet you at the door from Livity Juices; the kids can make their way to the indoor play area while you shop (if you can get them past the dynamic and enigmatic makers at Sour Boys Candy that is)!
Artisan products including handmade jewellery, candles, bags, soaps and homewares adorn the shelves of Artisan Alley and Cafe Collective WA, bringing together some of Western Australia’s best makers, craftspeople and artisans the state has to offer.
If you are looking for a special touch of the South West, look no further than the strikingly beautiful photography of young local legend Kira Price, whose beachscapes, landscapes and farm scenes steal the hearts of every visitor to Origins Market. Or for something sustainably South West check out Vasse Valley Hemp Farm’s range of gourmet hemp foods and terpene tonics.
Origins Market has your produce needs covered too, with a hand-picked selection of locally made cheese and charcuterie perfect for a weekend grazing board at The Collective, and the freshest fruit and veg for your everyday at Origins Fresh.
From 10am the party starts with the Urban Cellar Doors dishing out free tastings of boutique Western Australian wines, ciders and handcrafted spirits and the chance to buy direct from the maker. Here you will find award winning local wines, specialty WA gins, vodkas and spirits, a vibrant selection of ciders, and for something a little different check out the honey wine and mead range next to the indoor observational beehive.
The Homestead Bar opens at 10am too, accompanying the most vibrant selection of eateries under one roof. This casual family-friendly food hall sees food served up by some of the most talented chefs in the South West. Here you will find Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Italian, Filipino, Mediterranean, Balinese, Hong Kong, Latin, and gelato to top it off!
