Quickly becoming an institution in Busselton, Cesco’s Pizzeria is dishing up delicious, authentic, hand-stretched pizzas that capture the tastes and flavours of Italy, with a fresh Australian twist.
Hailing from Camponogara, a small town near Venice, Mattia learned his trade as a pizza chef whilst studying arts and theology at university. These days he can be found stoking the flames of his authentic Italian pizza oven from Thursday to Sunday at Origins Market.
Mattia’s passion for fresh, simple flavours will see you returning to the pizzeria time and again as you move through all the alternatives. From their classic Margherita featuring fior di latte and fresh basil, to the Italian sausage laden Porco, to the spicy Gamberi featuring marinated WA prawns with a sprinkling of fresh chilli and, of course, there’s also a Hawaiian on the menu too!
Running a small pizzeria was a closely held dream of Mattia and partner Alice, who met whilst working in restaurants in WA’s south coastal town of Denmark. After moving to Busselton in 2019 they toyed with the idea of starting a food truck, but when the opportunity to join Origins Market came up they felt they had found the perfect place to establish their own family business – Cesco’s Pizzeria.
Specialising in friendly service, great tastes and truly the most authentic dough in town, their little hole in the wall is quickly becoming a regular haunt for Busselton locals and visitors alike.
The real secret to their incredible pizza is the dough which features ingredients like gut-loving wheat germ as well as a 72 hour proving process which makes their hand-stretched pizza, not only deliciously light and crisp, but also easier for the body to digest, meaning there’s plenty of space for dessert!
