Better Bagels was born from a craving for the real deal, after Canadian-founder Jesse noticed a lack of authentic bagels in the South West. Determined to fill the void, he mastered a time-honored process: hand-rolling each batch, proofing them overnight, and boiling before baking (using locally sourced flour and zero preservatives).
Today, what began as a home-kitchen experiment has evolved into a full-scale operation, co-helmed by fellow Canadian Kris. Both are about as excited to bring traditional bagels and schmears to the community as they are about hockey!
Their Origins offer includes toasted bagels, schmears, and a homemade soup to enjoy at the Markets, plus take away options.
